Back to School Night

The Back To School Night campaign is an annual event where school families receive information about the Foundation and are asked to make a donation. This campaign is run by our volunteer Directors at each LCUSD school’s Back To School Night for parents. The funds raised go towards supporting various programs, such as funding for teachers of subjects like Drama, Art, Music, Spanish, technology advancements, counseling services, and more. Through the Foundation's efforts, La Cañada schools have been able to maintain their reputation for providing excellent education!

**While Supplies Last

Welcome back to another year of learning and growth! As the current president of the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF), I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of our schools and students. Each year, we come together as a community to ensure that our children receive the quality education they deserve. The LCFEF bridges the gap between state funding and the resources our schools need to excel through community fundraising and support.

Your contributions ensure our students have access to smaller class sizes, enriching arts programs, state-of-the-art technology, and vital support services that make La Cañada schools so exceptional. In a perfect world, California would fund public education fully and fairly, but due to the way property taxes work in California, La Cañada Unified receives less state funding than it deserves. Specifically, while the district spends $16,400 per pupil, it receives only $10,700 on average per pupil from the state of California. As our district faces increasing financial pressures, we are at a critical juncture where maintaining our high standards requires increased community support.

As our district faces increasing financial pressures, community support is vital to maintaining the high standards that make our schools exceptional. If we have to make cuts in the coming years, we will see programmatic shifts – a decline in services and an increase once again in class sizes. To protect the quality of education our children deserve, we are asking every family to consider a donation of $3,500 – a contribution that will collectively ensure our schools remain among the best in the state.

Your donations are a necessity for us so we can continue to deliver the very best for our students. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our children’s future. We look forward to partnering with you once more as we work toward a successful and impactful school year.

With gratitude,
