Back to School Night

The Back To School Night campaign is an annual event where school families receive information about the Foundation and are asked to make a donation. This campaign is run by our volunteer Directors at each LCUSD school’s Back To School Night for parents. The funds raised go towards supporting various programs, such as funding for teachers of subjects like Drama, Art, Music, Spanish, technology advancements, counseling services, and more. Through the Foundation's efforts, La Cañada schools have been able to maintain their reputation for providing excellent education!

Welcome back to school, La Cañada!

It is with gratitude that I serve our wonderful community as the 2026–2027 President of the La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF). This year, both of my children will be at LCHS 7/8—a milestone when our children go from being new to the district as PCR Panthers, LCE Lions, and PCY Cougars to becoming Spartans together. That is what I appreciate most about LCFEF: we are one community supporting every student.

I am thrilled to share that, thanks to our community's generosity last year, LCFEF will once again provide more than $2 million to the La Cañada Unified School District. Our volunteer Board of Directors works tirelessly to grow this level of support year after year because of what it provides for our students: smaller class sizes, elementary art and drama programs, and counseling services through both the Wellness Center and College & Career Center at LCHS. In addition, thanks to the generous paddle raise donations at our Annual Spring Gala, every classroom and learning space throughout the District will be equipped with a Red Bag Safety System, further enhancing the physical safety of our students and staff.

While it costs approximately $16,100 to educate each LCUSD student, the District receives only about $11,800 per student from the State of California. LCFEF helps bridge that funding gap, ensuring our students continue to benefit from the exceptional educational opportunities that make our schools so special.

Everything LCFEF accomplishes is possible because our community believes in our schools. I hope you'll join us by making a gift of $3,500 per family to LCFEF this year so we can continue providing the programs and opportunities that help every student learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you for being part of a community that cares so deeply about its schools and students. I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

With gratitude,

Hilary Petrizzo
